American Gaming Association’s new CEO had a vision for a bright and contemporary office space that would showcase the gaming industry as much as possible while providing a setting where staff can be productive.

Gaming industry imagery was incorporated through the use of over-sized graphics applied to walls as wall-covering. Elements taken directly from the industry such as a poker table used for conferencing and slot machines as a back-drop to the staff lounge add to the effect of “living in the game.” Metal etchings of famous gambling venues are located throughout the space as well.

Busboys and Poets is a community gathering place – a place to take a deliberate pause and feed your mind, body and soul – a space for art, culture and politics to intentionally collide. Their hope in creating such a space is that they can inspire social change and begin to transform the community and the world.

The owner wanted his tribal statement to be reflected in the construction of his restaurant. The unique design included a restaurant area, bookstore and open mic stage. Local art is featured throughout the restaurant to show its roots within the community.

After a move from the third to the tenth floor of its DuPont Circle- area building, international contract furniture company, Global Industries tapped HBW Group to build out their new showroom. The mandate was to showcase the company’s commitment to sustainable design in a fresh, modern space. The result is a light-filled showroom enhanced by city views that ably meets LEED Silver requirements.

The space includes a sleek reception area, with a recycled concrete counter paired with a backlit tinted-glass base. Modular FLOR carpets and Trend Q engineered stone tile clad the floors. The extensive showroom offers multiple product-display vignettes.

Light finished and reflective ceiling materials were used for a modern aesthetic, constructing a minimal number of walls so as not to obstruct natural light. The lighting plan ensured that products would be effectively highlighted in the showroom while still meeting LEED standards.
