What excites me most is building strong relationships. Whether it’s with our clients, team members, subcontractors, suppliers, or governing jurisdictions, those connections are the foundation of every successful project. Construction is a collaborative effort, and I enjoy working with people, building trust, and creating partnerships that help our projects run smoothly from start to finish.
What I enjoy most about working at HBW is the genuine collaboration among our team members. We have a culture where people are always willing to share their knowledge and experiences, creating opportunities to learn from one another and grow professionally. I also appreciate that everyone at HBW is united with the same goal: to exceed our clients’ expectations and deliver exceptional results on every project.
It’s hard to pick just one because every project is made better by the people behind it. Our field team is second to none. They’re incredibly skilled, dedicated, and committed to delivering successful projects. Working alongside a team like that makes every project enjoyable and, as an added bonus, makes my job a lot easier!
My interest in construction started at a young age. My dad was a plumbing foreman, and during the summers he would take me to work with him. Watching him manage a team of more than 50 employees showed me that construction is about much more than building projects; it’s about building people. He took pride in mentoring his employees, helping them become not only skilled plumbers but also responsible young men. From the time I was 10 years old, I learned the importance of hard work, leadership, and building strong relationships, values that continue to shape the way I approach my career today.
Without a doubt, my proudest accomplishment is my family. My wife and I have been married for 29 years, and together we’ve raised a wonderful son and daughter.

Working as a team to ensure the client is happy and satisfied with the final product.
I love that it feels like a family at HBW. Everyone is so caring and willing to help in any way possible.
I would have to say CHPA. It was very special to me because I learned so much during that project and the overall construction team was amazing.
My dad has been in construction my entire life and a superintendent for over 30 years. I tried to take my own route when I was younger, but construction was just in me from birth.
My proudest accomplishment is being a dad. My family is everything to me. I love being around my children and supporting them more than anything.

I like being in the middle of it all. Where finance meets operations. Things can get busy and a little chaotic at times, but I enjoy organizing that chaos and turning it into something clear. It’s rewarding to know the work I am doing behind the scenes helps keep projects moving forward.
The teamwork and the level of collaboration. Everyone is willing to jump in and support each other, which makes a big difference, especially in a fast-paced environment. It’s also been a great place to grow and take on new challenges.
I’d say The Array has been my favorite. It has kept me on my toes, but that’s part of what I enjoy about it. There are a lot of details to manage, and I like being able to bring some structure to it.
I pursued a career in construction because I’ve always been drawn to work that you can see and touch at the end of the day. There are a lot of moving parts in construction, and I like being able bring some clarity to ensure everything is moving in the right direction.
My proudest accomplishment is becoming a mom. It’s by far my favorite title. It’s taught me so much about patience, balance, and perspective, and I carry that with me into everything I do, both personally and professionally.

In construction in general, and specifically in estimating, no two projects are ever the same. Every project is different and poses its own challenges and coordination efforts. It’s interesting to be able to try and identify those challenges ahead of time and offer solutions before the project is even underway.
It gets said a lot, but it’s true – I really like the family atmosphere at HBW. Everyone is always available to help and support you at all levels of the company.
It wasn’t the largest project, nor did it have a ton of trades involved, but a cool one was the 9/11 memorial at CIA Headquarters. There were only a few trades involved, but the result was something different than we typically do.
It runs in the family. My father has been in construction his entire career. There were always blueprints around the house from various projects and I took an interest. After school, I got a job at his company as an estimating assistant, and it’s taken off from there.
I’m really proud of the circle of family and friends that I have surrounded myself with. I have a core group of close friends, my parents, and of course, my lovely fiancée, Jen. All of us can count on each other for anything at any time.

I love the opportunity to continue to learn every day and take on new and exciting projects. I have gained invaluable experience working with different PM’s on various projects and enjoy expanding my construction knowledge.
My favorite thing about working at HBW is the team camaraderie. I’m always able to bounce questions and ideas off my teammates, and I never feel alone when solving a problem. We truly work as one unit.
While it was tricky, my favorite project was the Atlantic Union Banks job. At the time, this was the first project I saw from start to finish, which gave me a full understanding of our operations and how to handle different questions and concerns as they arise throughout a job.
I have always been drawn to the problem-solving and collaboration inherent in the construction industry. I love that no two days are exactly the same—whether I’m on site or working on the backend in Autodesk, I’m always on my toes and ready for the next task. I truly enjoy being part of a team that creates something essential for our community.
Receiving my master’s degree from York College of PA is my proudest accomplishment on the personal side. I was taking double credit online night classes, while also working full time and rehabbing from shoulder surgery during the peak of COVID. It was a busy and stressful time, and I am glad to be on the other side!

What excites me most is the dynamic nature of the job; no two projects are ever the same. As a Project Accountant, I love being at the intersection of finance and operations, where I can directly see how our budgeting and forecasting efforts impact the success of each construction project. I take pride in helping my team stay on track financially while contributing to tangible, lasting structures in our communities.
What I enjoy most about working at HBW is the strong sense of teamwork and support. It’s clear that everyone is committed to doing their best work, and that kind of shared dedication creates a positive environment. I also appreciate the opportunities for growth, whether it’s learning from experienced colleagues or being trusted with new challenges, I feel like HBW truly invests in its people.
There isn’t one single project that stands out to me. What I truly enjoy is the variety, working with a diverse range of clients and across projects of all sizes and scopes. I take pride in being involved from start to finish, especially in managing the financial aspects and ensuring we consistently exceed client expectations.
Honestly, I fell into construction somewhat unexpectedly. I was exploring opportunities in the accounting field, looking for a role that would challenge me and allow me to grow. When I landed my first position in the construction industry, I didn’t fully realize how well it would align with my skills and interests. Over time, I came to really appreciate the fast-paced environment, the complexity of project financials, and the fact that the work has such visible, lasting outcomes. Even though I didn’t seek out construction from the start, it ended up being a great fit.
One of my proudest accomplishments has been my transition from the Services to also support Construction. Taking on new project managers and expanding my responsibilities has been both challenging and rewarding. The experience has significantly contributed to my professional growth, and it’s been incredibly fulfilling to see the positive impact I can make across both teams. At the same time, I’m especially proud of maintaining a sense of work-life balance as a working mom. It’s not always easy but finding that rhythm and being present both at work and at home is something I value deeply.

I’m most excited by the relationships I’ve made in the industry, especially other superintendents that I’ve mentored and the continued satisfaction I get from consistently turning over quality projects on time.
What I like best about working at HBW is the family atmosphere and knowing our leadership has the employees’ best interest at heart.
I got a job at 15 years old sweeping floors at a cabinet shop and fell in love with carpentry then subsequently as my career developed, I realized I chose the right path for me.
My favorite project so far was the NIBS project because it was my first project with Senior Project Manager Jeff Lee. He’s among the best teammates I’ve had in my career.

What excites me the most being in my role is the opportunity to be involved in transformative projects that shape our communities from the beginning. I love working in collaborative environments, working with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to bring projects to life.
The people of HBW. I appreciate the camaraderie and shared commitment we all have towards overcoming challenges and delivering high-quality projects. These relationships not only make the workday more enjoyable but also push me to continuously grow and improve.
It’s tough to choose a favorite project as there have been many projects that I have had the pleasure of being a part of, but if I had to choose, I would say any of the daycare’s facilities. They have always been close to my heart as this is one of the first places our kids take some of their first big steps in growing, learning, and exploring the world, and with having my own daughter, it makes that much more meaningful!
I initially got into the construction industry through recruiting local General Contractors in the area, but growing up with my dad as a superintendent, I was always surrounded by it. Now, after six years in this industry, I’m thrilled this is where my journey has taken me and will always have this bond with my dad.
Being a female in this male-dominated construction industry and a working mom is my biggest accomplishment. Thankfully, I’m surrounded by supporters who encourage me to speak up, to get involved in the project details, and help me grow within the industry so I can teach my daughter that it’s okay to be the only woman at the table!

What excites me most is knowing that the work I do directly supports the people and projects that make HBW successful. Whether it’s ensuring accurate payroll or managing property accounts, I take pride in contributing to the stability and efficiency of the company. It’s rewarding to know that the behind-the-scenes work I handle helps everything else run smoothly.
What I like best is the supportive and team-oriented environment. Even though I work in a more administrative role, I always feel connected to the bigger picture. Everyone here respects the value of each department, and there’s a real sense of collaboration across the company. Plus, HBW encourages growth and always looks for ways to improve processes, which keeps things interesting.
My favorite project has been learning and fully stepping into the role I’m in now. When I first started, there was a lot to take in—from understanding our property accounts to mastering the payroll systems and processes unique to HBW. It’s been incredibly rewarding to build that knowledge, take ownership of my responsibilities, and become someone the team can count on. Every challenge along the way has helped me grow both personally and professionally.
While I may not be on-site, I’ve always appreciated the construction industry for its tangible outcomes and fast-paced nature. I was drawn to the financial and administrative side because it’s where I can apply my strengths in organization, detail, and problem-solving. Working in construction accounting and payroll lets me be part of a dynamic industry while doing work I genuinely enjoy.
Professionally, my proudest accomplishment has been growing into my current role at HBW. When I started, there was a steep learning curve, but I committed to understanding the systems, processes, and responsibilities within the Property Account and Payroll team. Over time, I’ve become confident in my role and proud of the trust my colleagues place in me to keep things accurate and running smoothly. Personally, I’m proud of maintaining a strong balance between work and life. No matter how busy things get, I make time for the people and activities that keep me grounded. Staying consistent in my values while growing professionally has been something I’m truly proud of.

Supporting the Field Staff in whatever way I can. I probably average around 15 different calls from the Field each day, and each one is an opportunity to not only help but slowly get to know the person as well. Finally, nothing is more exciting than a week when timesheets are completed and done both on time AND correctly.
It’s very close to where I live, and the people are great.
Tracking Ovechkin’s historic run to its inevitable conclusion in our Fun Facts segment in our Manpower meetings.
